Lakin Cuchetto

Nancy C. Ralston Conservation Attorney

Lakin is the Nancy C. Ralston Conservation Attorney and a 2024 graduate of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. A lifelong Midwesterner, Lakin grew up in suburban Chicago. Her adventures around the Great Lakes instilled a deep appreciation for the beautiful landscape, unique resources, and unwaveringly kind people of her home region. Before law school, Lakin received her BA from Miami University in 2017 with a double major in Zoology and Sociology. Her junior year study abroad trip to the Gerace Research Center on San Salvador Island in the Bahamas became the catalyst for her decision to later pursue environmental law. After graduation, her passion for conservation education and community service grew while teaching science to high school students with disabilities and coaching high school dance. At Maurer, Lakin joined the Conservation Law Center as a student intern her second year. The following summer she interned for the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Chicago, where she worked on Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and CERCLA compliance cases.

Lakin is excited to carry on the work of advocating for sustainable, collaborative water policies. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, volunteering with animals, and enjoying the outdoors through hiking, skiing, and kayaking. Lakin is an active member of the Indiana Bar.
