Michael Dennis

Former Lead Counsel of The Nature Conservancy, Former Board Member Conservation Law Center

Michael Dennis worked for The Nature Conservancy for 35 years. He started his career as the New England Field Director in 1975 and spent the remaining 30 years as General Counsel. Additionally, Dennis helped organize the Malpai Borderlands Group, and served as Counsel since its inception in 1990. Dennis received his education from Northeastern University, with a J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law followed by an LL.M. from Boston University School of Law. Dennis continues to be active in the conservation space, as a board member of the Land Trust Alliance and North American Wetlands Conservation Council. Dennis was a founding board member for the Conservation Law Center and now serves on their advisory board. Dennis received the Animas Foundation Summit Award in 2009 and the Tall Grass Prairie Special Service Award in 1991.
