Conservation Law Center announces The Duke Energy “Grass Roots” Conservation Fellowship

Conservation Law Center is excited to announce a $10,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to establish a new student fellowship program. The Duke Energy “Grass Roots” Conservation Fellowship will offer students at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law a paid internship to gain hands-on experience advocating for water conservation and improved water quality in the state of Indiana.

This fellowship will provide opportunities to connect with Indiana conservation professionals, educate Indiana’s young people, and help Indiana communities prepare for rising environmental challenges. By providing advanced educational opportunities, the Duke Energy Foundation Grass Roots Conservation Fellowship will not only help contribute to the health and beauty of Indiana’s natural environment but also create future Hoosier environmental leaders.

“The Conservation Law Center is committed to creating a healthier, safer, and more resilient environment for Indiana,” said Duke Energy Community Relations Manager Bruce Calloway. “We chose to support this fellowship as it will engage students in hands-on experience and direct mentorship.”

The Duke Energy Foundation provides philanthropic support to meet the needs of communities where Duke Energy customers live and work. The Foundation contributes more than $2 million annually in charitable gifts to Indiana and is funded by Duke Energy shareholder dollars.
