The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust continues support for CLC’s Clean Water Indiana Program

CLC is proud to announce the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has continued their support of CLC’s Clean Water Indiana Program with a grant of $484,000 over the next two years. The Pulliam Trust and CLC have a long-standing partnership to improve water quality in the state.

A key part of CLC’s Clean Water Indiana Program is providing legal support to advocates, educating decision-makers on solutions, and influencing public policy. With Pulliam’s support, CLC completed a 45-page report, “Water and Quality of Life in Indiana” in 2016., The report included 14 recommendations on how to improve the quality of Indiana’s water. Over the next two years, $396,000 will be allocated for CLC to continue their efforts in water policy, as well as create action items on our most pressing recommendations identified by the water report, and establish creative solutions when necessary to initiate change. The remaining $88,000 will support CLC’s partnership with Hoosier Environmental Council to address the threat of coal ash in the White River.

The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust was established upon the death of Nina Mason Pulliam in 1997 to support the causes she loved in her home states of Arizona and Indiana. The Trust seeks to help people in need, protect animals and nature, and enrich community life in metropolitan Indianapolis and Phoenix. Since its inception, the Trust has distributed nearly $341 million to 1,004 organizations. For more information visit www.ninapulliamtrust.org.
