The Conservation Law Center is proud to announce the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has continued their support of CLC’s Clean Water Indiana Program with a grant of $180,000. This grant represents a longstanding partnership between the Pulliam Trust and CLC, with a shared goal of improving water quality in the state of Indiana.

“The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has been a true partner to CLC throughout the years,” said Christian Freitag, Executive Director of the Conservation Law Center. “Pulliam has believed in us since the very beginning, working with us to meet various challenges over the years. Partners like Pulliam make it possible for CLC to provide free legal support to advance conservation in the state and beyond.”

CLC’s Clean Water Indiana Program is focused on improving water quality by providing legal support to advocacy groups, educating decisionmakers on solutions, and influencing public policy. In 2016, CLC completed a 45-page report, “Water and Quality of Life in Indiana”, with Pulliam’s support, giving 14 recommendations on how to improve the state of Indiana’s water quality. This year’s funding will allow work on these recommendations to continue

“The Trust is proud of our partnership with CLC and their ongoing efforts to address the current challenges to Indiana’s water quality,” said Gene D’Adamo, President and CEO of the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. “Educating Indiana’s policymakers, providing workable solutions for commerce and conservation interests, and preparing the state for future challenges is critical to its success. We applaud CLC staff and law clinic students for all their detailed work.”

The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust was established upon the death of Nina Mason Pulliam in 1997 to support the causes she loved in her home states of Arizona and Indiana. The Trust seeks to help people in need, protect animals and nature, and enrich community life in metropolitan Indianapolis and Phoenix. Since its inception, the Trust has distributed nearly $341 million to 1,004 organizations. For more information visit www.ninapulliamtrust.org.
