Happy Earth Day! This week CLC has some tips on how to tackle one of the greatest environmental threats of our time: plastic. Check it out!
On March 2, CLC Director Bill Weeks delivered the Carlson Lecture at Indiana University School of Public Health. The presentation considered the future of conservation with a focus on the current movement away from biodiversity as conservation’s primary goal.
The Conservation Law Center, with attorney Jeff Hyman leading the litigation, represented environmental groups Alliance for the Great Lakes and Save the Dunes in a bid to protect the public’s right to use the Lake Michigan shore as public land.
The Conservation Law Center provides legal counsel without charge to conservation organizations, works to improve conservation law and policy, and offers law students clinical experience in the practice of law and the profession's public service tradition. Over its twelve year history, it has served more than 150 conservation organizations and provided counsel in over 250 legal matters, from litigation to document drafting and from tax to water policy. The Center has offices at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, and at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
