About Us

The Conservation Law Center was established in 2005. We help local, regional, and national non-profit and government organizations achieve their conservation goals by:

Mission

The Conservation Law Center provides legal counsel without charge to conservation organizations, works to improve conservation law and policy, and offers law students clinical experience in the practice of law and the profession's public service tradition.

Student Involvement

Second and third year law students may take a Conservation Law Clinic created and managed by the Center's attorneys through a partnership with the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Clinic students help provide counsel to the Center's clients under supervision of the Center's attorneys. The interns are introduced to a high standard of technical competence and professionalism in the practice of law. Some clinic interns go on to pursue careers in environmental law. All gain an awareness of conservation issues and the importance of law in the public interest, and they carry that awareness into their future careers.
